This folk song is written in 3/4 waltz time, with it’s accent on the first beat followed by two weak beats.
Children can learn to identify the accented beat and two weak beats by following a teacher or adult demonstrating different actions.
For example:-
accent = hands on head x 1
weak beat = hands on shoulders x 2
