This song is sometimes known as “Sally the Camel”. It is a classic counting song that teaches kids to count down.
Of all counting songs, this children’s counting song is one of the most popular, often heard in kindergarten, preschool, school and family sing-alongs. Children love this very humorous action song.
They can use their fingers to show how many humps Alice has and at the end of the verse, can make up their own actions for “Go Alice, go! Boom, boom, boom.”
For example, each time they sing “So, go, Alice, go” kids can do pretend running or running on the spot. For the last line “Boom, boom, boom, boom” they can jump as high as they can.
Alice The Camel Teaching Points: counting, actions, movement, improvisation, fun.
